My Godson's Wedding
By Peter Fisher
Fish and chips may seem rather unusual for a wedding breakfast, but that is what we were treated to at my Godson's wedding last week. The wedding venue was at a superb venue in Cheshire, UK and one I had not been to previously. Known as the 'Glasshouse' at Combermere Abbey, near Nantwich it is an exceptionally stylish place. And the fish & chips were wonderful. The wedding ceremony was a civil ceremony and as such was also a first for me, but the event was very good and my Godson had a marriage ceremony to be proud of. The Glasshouse is a very large conservatory style building set in a walled garden containing the abbey's orchards which was full of ripening apples, pears, figs and peaches! Although it rained a little, the sun shone when it mattered. |
