Love Our Animals and Pets
Animals and Pets of every type - don't we just love them? It doesn't matter whether you are a 'bird person', a 'cat person' or a 'dog person' or even if you are into something more exotic, we still love them all. And one of the criteria for being well-adjusted is the ability to share love which means you never let them down. Animals and pets in particular are able to make us laugh, make us cry, make us happy or sad and sometimes angry. But unlike people, our pets are never malicious or evil and if they ever appear that way then surely the failing is with us. Our animals and pets love us unconditionally - although cats pretend not to - and when they misbehave, it is because we haven't trained them sufficiently well. It's also been proved that our pets can have a profound effect on our health, our mental health in particular, but also that patients recover faster when they have access to their animals and pets. It is very soothing and calming to stroke the fur of a well-loved pet when you are not well yourself and you can be yourself around your pets. There is no need to put up a pretence or be someone that you are not because whatever you do, the approval of your pets is guaranteed. This freedom to be yourself removes much of the stress you experience in your daily life. With a pet there to greet you as you come home from work, you have a friend by your side and you can put the day behind you. You also benefit from the physical exercise you get when you have a dog and if you don't take them for a walk, the chances are that they go without much needed exercise. So because you don't want to deprive them, you get out in the fresh air, and enjoy the walk together. A brisk thirty minute walk is one of the best things you can for both your health's sake. However our animals and pets rely on us to provide for their needs and it remains important that we understand the differing needs of different breeds, so we must ensure that we have access to reliable information and never let them down.
